Full Description: The Golden Fox faces the A350 in the village of Sturminster Marshall. The village has many amenities including a store, post office, pharmacy, village hall, recreation ground and golf course with driving range. Just outside the village is a medieval, eight-arched bridge which crosses the River Stour at White Mill and is believed to be the oldest in Dorset, dating from 1170. White Mill (now owned by the National Trust) has been restored and is open to the public. There are many walks around the village, most notably the 'Stour Valley Way', which follows the River Stour from its source to the sea. Sturminster Marshall has a population of approximately 2,000, whilst the nearby town of Wimborne Minster (commonly known as Wimborne) has over 15,000.

Wimborne is a picturesque, historic market town with a Minster church; it also has one of the foremost collections of 15th, 16th and 17th century buildings in Dorset.
