Along the road frontage to Swanton Lane are a number of magnificent roadside oaks. In the northern part of the wood, there is an avenue of Corsican and Scots pine and this is interspersed with paths and open areas. Very few deer are present in the area, allowing the understorey and coppice to flourish and grow with little interference.Oldridge Wood is to be found about two miles east of Canterbury, on the north side of the A257 Canterbury to Sandwich road. After about two miles out of Canterbury, turn left onto Swanton Lane and Oldridge Wood will be found on your left-hand side.
